Just a quickie to start the day, with the news that Kolo Toure will miss the start of next season after being handed a six-month ban for testing positive during a post-Manchester derby drug’s test back in February – later admitting that he took his wife’s diet pills in order to hit a weight-loss target set by the club.

Silly bugger.

The FA ban will be back-dated to March 2nd, which is the day that Man City provisionally suspended Toure, and will be lifted again on September 2nd – though the Ivorian will still have to be spot-tested at regular intervals for a further two years.

The ruling means that Toure will not be allowed to participate in any football match or other football-related activities (other than anti-doping education or rehabilitation programmes) until his ban expires.

Kolo admitted hius guilt; I don’t think Rio did.

Wonder what Rio finks, notin on twitter yet but he must be fumin. Half the ban is when there no football anyway.

Rio missed the 2004 Euro’s during his ban so if you are doing drugs, just make it to the test…
