Police have confirmed that the confiscated all of the copies of the United fanzine, Red Issue, that were floating around outside Old Trafford today which featured cut-out ‘Suarez Is Innocent’ Ku Klux Klan masks for United fans to hold in front of their faces to bait Liverpool as the teams emerged from the tunnel.

These are those…

It’s just a ghost right? The ghost of Suarez’s innocence?

So said police bod Chief Superintendent Mark Roberts said:

“Shortly before kick-off we were made aware that a Manchester United supporters’ fanzine was being sold outside Old Trafford featuring a potentially offensive image.

“We have seized the fanzines and masks] as both items are potentially offensive and we cannot be in a situation where hundreds or thousands of people were displaying offensive images at a football match.

“The consequences of taking no action could have resulted in public order incidents inside or outside the ground.”

But officer, it’s only BAAAAAAAAANTAAAAAAAH!!!!

The funny thing is, this is far more subject than anything that has happened during this whole situation and since its from the Manchester side nothing will happen because of it!

I don’t like Man U or LiverFool but you guys are ridiculous.

  6. JJ says:

…and this is FAR MORE RACIST than ANYTHING Luis Suarez did to Patrice Evra.

I would be surprised if that disgusting bit of “banter” would make any headlines tomorrow. Thesedays the media can not be arsed into producing such a piece of unbiased journalism..

Just as bad as each other. Play football and the better team wins. What’s wrong with that?

This is wonderful satire by United. Don’t get me wrong I’m a Gooner and I hate-respect United for all they’ve accomplished. They’re only, rightly, I might add, giving Liverpool shit for standing behind a player that was charged and convicted by the FA of racially abusing Patrice Evra. There’s nothing racist or offensive about this. The police can confiscate them in the interest of preventing a riot, but there’s nothing United have to be ashamed of here. It’s Liverpool and Suarez who have completely covered themselves in shit throughout these entire last 3 months.

I was never a fan of Liverpool, but this has definitely gone far enough. I mean, I remember what their own fans were like to John Barnes, who got the banana throwing treatment from his own fans; yet I thought in the twenty, almost thirty years people have become more intelligent and yet it seems that theirs enough idiots in the stands and the silent majority continue to be sheep, letting this go.

Although to be honest, I have for the last three years going through this slow withdrawal from football. The corporatism, the greed, the racism, the sexism, homophobia, the cheating, the million other issues with fans and the game have been all the more reason not to bother watching the game which has devolved so much. Of course, the 80s were terrible for football too; so perhaps it’ll improve once Sepp Blatter retires or is voted out by all the tools in all the FA’s across the globe.

I wonder if the man u fan arrested for racism last week would have put one on to?

  14. AJM says:

Just to be clear – this was an MUFC fan magazine joke at LFC’s expense. LFC’s hand in all this, however, was a club-driven, manager-driven defense of Suarez’ behavior AFTER being banned. Big difference.
