Oh Ashley Young, how I despise thee. Yes, the officials got it all kinds of wrong given that he was a good few feet offside, but that doesn’t excuse what Young did next to con a penalty out of referee Lee Mason and prematurely end Shaun Derry’s afternoon in the process.

Look Ma! Cheats do prosper…

In all seriousness, has he no shame at all?

Yes, what a disgrace… Unfortunate for QPR as they deserved to have a fair crack at United for 90 min. Not impressed by him at all on this one.

  2. Mr. Sparkle says:

I watched only the first half of that game. Ferguson and his men are a bunch of cheats, always have been but I sometimes forget how disgusting their game play actually is. That wasn’t the only cheating committed, Rafael was mostly at the centre of flopping and thrashing about like a beached humpback whale.

  3. Redskywalker says:

Mr. Sparkle – shut your mouth. You never know what your talking about on this site

  4. Professor Erno Breastpinchd says:

I was thinking just the same when I listened to 606 last night. It’s so tedious listening to some plastic fan moaning about a ref after watching an incident on replay from their couch. But they always fail to point the blame at their own limp lilly players diving all over the place.
It’s not just Man Utd, it’s most teams in the top flight.

  5. Redskywalker says:

Im extremely dissapointed by Young. Really, thats not the United way. He should come out and apologise, he’s conned the ref and destroyed the match. I feel for Shaun Derry the most. he took it on the chin when he knew he did absolutely nothing wrong.

  6. Alfred Brown says:

Ashley Young is a serial diver. He should be ashamed of himself. Unfortunately, he’s won his team a penalty and quite possibly the match, so there’ll be little criticism form Man Utd management, players or fans. Retrospective bans is the only way forward.

  7. K says:

worst part… ok not the WORST part… i just took the lead in my fantasy league because they gave me points for Ashley Young having an assist on Wayne Rooney’s PK.

  8. Nicolas says:

I rarely agree wit Mr.Sparkle but to be fair – he is more than right. It is sad to see that ManU with their “fair play” becoming champions again. Not that City deserve it more with their arab money and players whore. But still – ugly!

  9. zack says:

as a united fan seeing the replays i was disappointed by it. The linesman should never have let it get that far in the first place. Fergie saying it was enough to make him go off balance is also a poor excuse. go to any soccerdome in the uk and nobody goes over for that. 9/10 forwards would have done the same thing i think and it ultimately killed the game. Luckily watching Arsenal whoop city made up for it afterwards.

I think we would have ultimately won the game regardless but that is just my opinion. i’d just rather win the game without giving people a reason to say we cheated it with the ref when we are better than that.

    cheating little cunt

  11. SL says:

Ref is a confirmed Bolton fan whos brother used to play for them. Now the FA have never given him a Bolton game so why did they give him this game which could benefit them massively?

He couldnt wait to get the card out.
Either use video evidence and/or remove the red card for pro fouls inside the box, a penalty is enough. Players are now being coached to dive when clean through rather than score.

Rooney did a 2 footed tackle from behind and it wasnt even a booking!

  12. Dave says:

This does sour victory for me, Utd fans don’t want to win this way

  13. Nuno says:

That was an hell of a play… great combination between Young and the refs, turning an offside into a penalty and a red card with only the slightest of touches. Hasn’t SAF praised the ref’s work?

  14. Mr. Sparkle says:

    @Redskywalker

You’re a yank, and a glory hunting Manchester United fan. Shut your fucking cunt.

“Really, thats not the United way. He should come out and apologise, he’s conned the ref and destroyed the match.”

Ultimate cringe. Very easy to say after the 3 points are wrapped up! Plus there’s about as much chance as Young coming out and apologising as City winning the league.

He’s a cheat and yes he has no shame, the way he turned to the ref up in arms after the dive was incredible.

  17. DeathCabforWoody says:

This will make the English media so mad, they will write another article on Saurez’s diving antics.

  18. Davie says:

Diving cunt, but what can you expect from Man United? I’ve been saying Young is a serial divel for years (probably why fergie bought him), but nobody mentions it because he isn’t a ‘nasty foreigner’.

  19. Davie says:

    *diver.

  20. Davie says:

“You’re a yank, and a glory hunting Manchester United fan.”

Well said. United fans are tools.

  21. Dont worry says:

Sparkle shut up mate, bit angry are we? I will admit i hate seeing utd dive as i hate watching rivals do it and yeah but calling the whole side cheats is a bit much

  22. raza says:

Hmm. What was Derry’s hand doing at the jersey? If his hand was nowhere near then that dive would not have been mistaken for a penalty.

  23. wolfinho says:

fuck yeah, we’re the best cheaters in england! deal with it. anyone who moans about fair play in a game like soccer, that clearly sets the rules up to reward cheating and unfair competition, should take a vacation in reality once in a while. XX. kiss the rings, sparky!

  24. CJ says:

how can anyone even try and defend young? it was a blatant dive and deliberate cheating to win a game! the fact that derrys hand was near his shirt has nothing to do with it, there was minimal (if any) contact and young took a DIVE. he is a cheat and the sooner the FA start punishing players for such actions the sooner the game will improve!

  25. Scott says:

Right now, this type of behavior is helping teams to win with no downside. Suspend players upon after game review and this will stop. Granted, it is not as bad as having to compete against South American teams and their cheating ways with refs who are either on the payroll, or scared for their safety, but bad none the less. After game reviews should also be able to rescind cards when the supposed foul turns out to be a fake.

  26. Taylor says:

the only way to stop this is with video replay and a sending off for such blatant and ridiculous cheating. players don’t care if they get a yellow, cause attacking players aren’t going to get yellow card accumulation like a defender. yellow’s don’t mean shit to them. send the pussies off and I guarantee you they’ll never try it again.

also, MLS and the Aussie league have started to look back on matches and fining players for it. that seems to be working well and for the first time, European leagues would do well to copy MLS in this regard

  27. Jack says:

United and Young are equally pathetic. For Ashley Young to go down like that really sums up everything that he and United are all about – cheating and winning. Rooney dives as regularly as anyone in world football and Young is just following suit. All the nonsense about foreigners always looking for fouls and Britons being hard but fair is really waning – maybe a pair of well-timed, face up studs in Young’s knee would give him something to really complain about. Fergie meanwhile defends all this garbage – the lot of them should just bugger off and leave the football to the real football people. Ashley Young is forever an absolute disgrace to the game.

  28. zack says:

some people need to rinse their tampons out on here. this feed stinks of pussies.

  29. SL says:

And the FA uphold the decision so yes, cheats indeed do prosper.

They actually think that was a red card offence and he didnt dive.

What hope has the game got with those morons in charge?

  30. william says:

    HMMM..

Lots of ABU comments in here. Are you jealous because we’re on our way to our record 20th league title? By the looks of it, it only seems like your outcry is fueled by spite and hate.

Be jealous. Be bitter. Be an ABU.

  31. Peter says:

We all know Ashley Young is a cheat. he has form going back to his Aston Villa days. the real problem however is Ferguson and the Man Utd machine which is now a real menace to the good name of the game. There needs to be a full enquiry into the relationship between Ferguson and his management and ref officials. I think you will see a number of worms crawling out from under a few rocks. There is clear corruption now in the game and although Man Utd are not alone they are its chief architects.

  32. Peter says:

As fans of the game we need to stick together on this one and call for a full enuiry. Don’t allow your sectional interest blur your vision of the game, which is for a fair contest between 2 opposing sides. Man U fans, take the rose tinted spectacles off! If not there will almost certainly be a backlash, I can even now hear the boos from the oppo terraces to every game contested by Man Utd.

  33. jim says:

End of the day, dont make contact in such a way that allows a player to play up to that contact, 99% of people would do the same.
to suggets that United are worse than any other team then jog on. Every team is the same. United get no more penatlies than anyone else, theirs statistics that show that. and United dont dive anymore than anyother team.

  34. Don Meade says:

The bastard just did it again v. Villa!

  35. leekh says:

One of these days somebody will break his legs! And end his cheating career.
