With just a few hours to go until the biggy kicks off in Munich, we thought we’d have a little look back at last year’s Champions League final – a game which saw Barcelona well and truly paddle Man Utd’s little pink botties at Wembley on May 28th, 2011.

Relive the agony and the ecstacy (click for full-size images)…

Highlights…

Oomph, that Villa goal just gets sweeter and sweeter. Wonder if Pique’s still got that net?

  2. McTez says:

Scholes suits the Barca shirt. Would love to see him spend a final year over there.

that rooney goal was brilliant. it gets lost in the fact they were well beaten but the build up and the strike were very good.

  4. Toz says:

I remember that night vaguely. I was drunk, sitting with my cousins, at my cousins wedding watching the game while everyone upstairs was celebrating the young couple.

  5. Jarren says:

I remember watching the game with my dad. When Rooney scored the equaliser we were ecstatic, even though Barcelona had been dominating up to that point.

Of course, Barcelona dominated after Rooney’s goal as if nothing had happened. Van der Sar should have done better with Messi’s, but that Villa goal was something special.

It was at that point that me and my dad just sat back and accepted the result. I think United as a team did too.

Still, Barcelona are a fucking boring team to watch.

I’m really glad Chelsea kicked them out this year.

    To Jarren,

If you think Barcelona are a boring team to watch, maybe you should stop watching football and start watching darts or golf.

You obviously have no clue! Barca are the silkiest players to watch. Alex Ferguson quoted after the game that Barca are just something else and even he was blown away.

Let me know how darts goes..
