Ding ding! The Glazer Family have just rung the bell over on Wall Street to mark their club floating their utterly worthless $14 shares on the stock market.

To celebrate the big day, the Glazers handed out specially embroidered Manchester United shirts with ‘MANU’ (United’s share trading code) and ‘NYSE’ (New York Stock Exchange) stitched onto them to the various stockbrokers and traders on the floor.

It’s as grim as it sounds…

Nauseating. Truly nauseating.

Football really doesn’t belong to us anymore.

Following the footie from afar, I once supported Man Utd. But over the years I’ve become disenfranchised with the club, and I have slowly turned my support over to Sunderland, which I have now taken as my own. SAFC a proper football team run by proper people. Ha’way the Lads!

  2. Andre says:

I maybe wrong but isn’t the term “Manu” somewhat of a derogatory term for the hardcore Man Utd supporters?!

  3. Bill says:

^Fair play, but Dan Smith was and is and absolute cuntosaurus though.

  4. Nick says:

@Andre, yeah you’re right there mate, the Glazer’s further endearing themselves to fans

  5. dan says:

wait, isn’t the fact that stocks of the club are now publicly traded mean exactly that football, or at least small parts of ManU, DOES belong to us now? Or is this about an English club being listed in NY?

  6. Graham says:

@ Dan, this is the Glazers’ attempt at helping bail out the club from debt.

And by bail out the club from debt, I mean further hand over money to the owners who put the club in debt in the first place.

  7. Redskywalker7 says:

    ‘ManU’…. ‘MANU’???????????

Get these rediculous tosspots out of my club now. Or yesterday. Slimebags of note

  8. Toz says:

A bail out which will not be used for said purpose.

New home at the Hamptons, bitches!

  9. Jimmy says:

@tenblackalps The same Sunderland AFC run by an american billionaire?

  10. p says:

lets not forget chelsea and roman are the ones who spoiled football i mean really

  11. Professor Erno Breastpinchd says:

Those two do nothing for the perception of traders being douches

  12. ChristianVieri says:

What is with the septics and extremely baggy jerseys, they look like awful, ill fitting jerseys from the 90’s

  13. bb says:

@Dan, unfortunate for everyone, that has nothing to do with it. They floated a 10% share of the club’s ownership, Glazer’s maintain 98% voting rights, so, yeah, nothing changes except they get to pocket XX% of the IPO profit instead of paying off debt with it all.

Not a United fan at all, but this is another sad step for the EPL

  14. Cosa says:

Please fuck off mackem number 1

  15. ibrahimovic's nose says:

hahahaha oh man. modern football ay..

  16. tenblackalps says:

@JImmy the nationality of the owner is exclusive to their actions. Short has been a good owner and has a smart global vision for Sunderland. @Bill fair play the tackle was inexcusable.

  17. jonathan says:

isn’t city the ones who are destroying football? why are people slagging a properly-run club like united?
