We’re told that this is the official letter from Sir Alex Ferguson that Manchester United fans will be handed when they pass through the turnstiles at Anfield on Sunday in an effort to keep the trogolodytes that still insist on chanting about Hillsborough quiet.

Apparently respective captains Nemanja Vidic and Steven Gerrard are also going to release 96 balloons before kick-off in tribute to the Hillsborough victims. They’re certainly doing their bit to keep the rivalry civil and sporting this time around.

Fingers crossed, eh?

Nice gesture, but Ferguson really can’t say five words without drenching them in arrogance. “Best club in the world,” give me a break. And the “best fans in the game” were made to look like Wigan’s away support by the Galatasaray contingent this week.

  2. HBKshawn says:

Most of the yobs and chavs who will be mocking the Hillsborough deaths can’t read anyway.

Maybe Ferguson should read this in front of the press and have the video uploaded onto MUTV and Youtube so that those goons would understand the point.

Alternatively, just haul them away when they start those moronic chants and deport them to anti-Islamic video protests hotposts in the Middle East dressed in US Marine attires.

  3. Yo says:

Oh come on, what do you suggest he should have written ?! “Dear crappy fans of my sh*tty club”. He’s addressing MU’s fans, obviously he is going to praise them and their club !
I am not a big fan of SAF, but I have to admit the gesture is grand.

  4. Jock says:

@Joe omg so is that not true and quantifiable?

  5. JoeT says:

I hope Evra and Suarez shake hands, If they dont their just being selfish

  6. T don’t think the yobs and chavs who support Man Utd can read well enough to understand the letter.

Maybe Ferguson can do a video plea instead.

Alternatively, if they repeat those sick chants at Anfield next week, deport them straight to the anti-Islamic video protest hotspots dressed in USA flags. That would sort their heads out nicely.

  7. CP3 says:

@Joe, wow really? I mean, that’s what you’re going to take away from that?

  8. Rob says:

If they are the best fans in the world then why would he have to plead with them to behave?

  9. Anonymous says:

“Oi yobs! Pipe down on Sunday, won’t you? Your Mate, Alex”

  10. Graham says:

The jealousy is thick in this thread. I can’t recall Liverpool’s hierarchy asking their fans to cease the Munich chants. Then again, I guess they’re too busy trying to be American TV stars now to be thoughtful or decent.

and the united fans still sing murderers, murderers after the match….
