“Chelsea: Standing Up To Racism Since That Guy”
When the club makes no attempt to discipline its captain for being racist what kind of example does it set for the fans? Its almost inevitable that something like this would happen. I know a couple of Chelsea fans who make no defense of Terry’s actions and instead find it all rather amusing and make racist jokes about Anton Ferdinand purely because of what happened last year. It seems to be a weekly thing now. I’m sure he’ll just say he was itching both armpits at the same time though.
What is Peter Herbert and his Society of Black Lawyers going to do aboout this???
I’d rather see video footage of this, take Welbeck out of the shot and he could be just taking his hands out of his pockets, unlikely but still a possibility, the photo in no way shows conclusively he is making a monkey gesture
Does everybody remember Phillip Gannon, the Liverpool supporter, who did this around the time of the Suarez-Evra affair? Funny timing, what with the Clattenburg thing (allegedly “shut it, monkey”), don’t you think? It’s almost as if the papers are looking for people doing stuff like this in the club’s crowds after these big racist stories…
Which brings me to this – this MUST happen a lot more than is being reported. Should it not be the responsibility of Kick It Out, or the FA, or the clubs themselves, to be checking these things after every match? Does this already happen and just doesn’t appear in the rags?
I’ll be curious to see what Chelsea does to investigate and presumably punish this supporter.

Im sure they will just ban him for 4 games, they wouldnt want to be seen as total hypocrites by having a guilty racist as captain while banning a supporter for life.
First they abuse a steward, then this. Within a couple of days. The plastic fans are really classy it seems! Makes Leeds fans sensible!
Chelsea will be furious after they’ve lodged that complaint.
