“What’s your secret? Fabric softener?”

Should you have slept on it and still woken this morning frothing at the mouth and with half your pillow ingested in the night over Arsenal’s Brazilian numpty, Andre Santos and his ill-advised half-time shirt swap with Robin van Persie at Old Trafford yesterday, now’s your chance to vent your spleen about the whole fiasco.

Pies’ verdict? We couldn’t care less. It was just a shirt. So what? It’s not like you’d expect anything more of Santos. He’s just a bit of a wally. You only have to look at his tattoo to see that.

Then again, we’re not Arsenal fans and we’re heavily hungover so perhaps our apathy is a little tainted.

What did you make of the whole ridiculous farrago folks?

    Jesus is disappointed.

i couldnt care less, the media on the other hand…

    that includes you, Chris.

stop perpetuating petty bullshit just to have a pop at football teams.

  3. Zam says:

Maybe he thought the game was over, he was arguably correct….

  4. Lukass says:

Cunt. Wenger should have sent him back to Brazil or wherever the fuck he wants to fuck off at half time.

I’m an Arsenal fan and I couldn’t care less, or at least not much less. Possibly it would have been better if he’d waited til the end but possibly he didn’t think he’d still be on the field then.

I don’t know. I mean, I can’t expect footballers to hate every single player on the opposing side, they are real people. Andre Santos has already proven that he follows his own rules in life, so I’m not surprised it’s him swapping shirts at half time. I know Piers blew a gasket over the whole ordeal but it doesn’t bother me too much. He probably (correctly) assumed that based on his first performance, he wasn’t going to see much more of RvP in that match. A little disheartening, but I’d also like to point out the class RvP showed towards the Gunners. Yes, he left for money and trophies and such but I thought he showed class by declining to celebrate after he scored. All in all, very disappointed with Arsenal’s performance, and I’m glad van Persie handled it the way he did.

  7. Allan says:

Lets be honest the fact Santos is probably the worst left back in the country is the reason we should be disappointed, its no mere coincidence our seasons really crashed since hes came into the team. No one has any confidence when your left back just floats about doing what he wants.

He doesn’t seem to have any urgency or understand just how badly he’s doing. He uses excuses like in brazil a full back doesn’t defend so it will take time to ajust…hes been in europe for 4 years maybe more!

  8. @OldNumber7Shirt says:

I agree that Santos is a “wally” and probably didn’t know no better.

He should, however, be held accountable by his manager and captain for how it comes off. Ignorance may be the explanation but it’s not an excuse.

Allan is on point with Santos not having urgency, or understanding how badly he’s doing.

  9. Steven_Gerald says:

I also couldn’t care less about the shirt-swap. But I do care that he has absolutely no tactical understanding or timing for tackles. Valencia could do whatever the heck he wanted. Which also took Podolski out of the game as he had to be more concernend what was behind him than in front of him (plus he was pretty shitty yesterday). But Gibbs is injured and Miguel showed Tuesday that he’s no solution on the left.

Definetly could have used Clichy or That Other Left Back Before Him yesterday.

  10. Michael says:

    @Lukass

If I remember correctly, RVP and Santos were best mates during Robin’s time at Arsenal. I was pleased that Arsenal fans vented their anger towards RVP when he moved, but being angry for a current player who showed a friendly gesture to a mate is way too far.

    @Allan

I think he was brought in for his versatility rather than pure talent. You have to remember that he isn’t necessarily a full back, but rather a winger who can play anywhere on the left.

I’d take him over Kolarov to be honest. Then again, I’d take anyone over Kolarov.

  11. usrick says:

Not very clever exchanging shirts at halftime and in public and television view, but the bigger concern to me is how much of Santos’ “thinking” in the first half was on the great shirt exchange rather than on playing his position.

  12. Can says:

Comin off the field after that 1st half performance and askin for somebody’s shirt? That would indicate to me that that player does’t give a toss about his or the team’s display. Wat a gimp!! Could u imagine Keown or Adams at that sort of behaviour? I don’t think so.

  13. Russell says:

I think we have more problems than a shirt.

  14. lordrt says:

Well it’s just a shirt and he did it at half time knowing RvP has another one in the dressing room to wear, not like Giroud and another arsenal player who gave theirs to the fans while extra-time was looming :D

  15. AussieGooner says:

It was a stroke of genius. Santos was clearly trying to trick RVP into playing for Arsenal in the second half, while he was going to line-up for ManU…unfortunately you have to get up a bit earlier than that to trick SAF, as he wanted no such shenanigans!!
