Football GIF: David Luiz Has Good Ol’ Laugh About Getting Rafael Sent Off

By Chris Wright

It was a nauseatingly mediocre affair settled by a suitably shonky winning goal but, as this was Man Utd-Chelsea, there was still room for some dickish behaviour – with David Luiz getting his fellow countryman Rafael sent off late on for a “swipe” in the corner.

Luiz went down like a sack of scheisse despite barely being grazed and then lay there laughing at the irate United fans as Rafael was administered with his marching orders…

Come on Dave, you’re better than that.

    What a dick. But HA, class Sideshow Bob reference; I’m 100% behind links between the Simpsons and football.

  2. Nuno says:

    I was surprised it was a straight red, but there’s no doubt there was contact. And not a “bare graze”, it was enough to cause any player to fall. But yeah, it should have been a yellow.

  3. HudsonBlue says:

    The smile happened a good 2-3 minutes before the red card was shown as there was a player scuffle before Rafael was sent off.

    Doesn’t make it right, but come on get the facts straight.

    “David Luiz getting his fellow countryman Rafael sent off late on for a “swipe” in the corner.”

    How did he do that exactly?
    Did Luiz ask Rafael to violently kick out at him?

  5. Redskywalker7 says:

    He is, and has always been a cunt

  6. King says:

    Perfect video to put with the page.

  7. Peters says:

    Rafael voted Quimby, reason enough

  8. Miguel - NYC says:

    The person at fault here is Rafael for his stupidity.
    Luiz did not play act. Rafael hits him hard, and he goes nowhere close to the ball.
    Luiz is probably laughing at the stupidity of Rafael, knowing that Rafael just go himself booked.
    Here is where english football fails and keeps on failing. Thinking that their “tough” league is the best in the world, then realize their “toughness” has not gotten them anything at the national level in many, many years and that their “top” teams do not make it past the quarters in the CL.
    This “toughness” has nothing to do with playing well. Then you have Gerard rolling around and diving, yet he is the captain of the national team. Double Standard??

  9. tipo 00 says:

    nothing wrong there. he got kicked and fell over, instinctively held his leg then thought ‘ooh, it doesn’t hurt, silly me! better get up’. i’m sure that is what happened.

  10. Aaron says:

    @Miguel
    Are you even aware who is the reigning European champions?

  11. Miguel - NYC says:

    @Aaron,
    The same Chelsea that could not make it out of the group stages this year (enjoy the Europa league). Same with Man city, and with Man U last year. Overrated.

  12. Ross says:

    @ Miguel

    Here is a break down of the CL winners/runners up within the last ten years (2002/03 season);

    Winners (by country)
    Italy 3
    England 3
    Spain 3
    Germany 1 (yet to be won, albeit later this month)

    Runners up
    England 5
    Germany 3
    Italy 1
    France 1

    As you can see, your opinion regarding English teams not making it past the Quarters within the CL is misinformed, as English teams have pretty much been ever present in the CL latter stages in recent memory. As Rafa once said…you cannot argue with FACTS!

    As for the rest of your comments, I will just say this…opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one!

    @Chris

    you guys never stop the chelsea hate, do you?

    THE GIF WAS FROM BEFORE RAFAEL WAS SENT OFF. If this was a united, liverpool, arsenal or spurs player you probably would’ve fucking checked. instead, its a chelsea bloke, so you’re free to bullshit as you always do with anything chelsea.

    give it a break.

    and if you’re going to tar and feather the club and its supporters at every turn, at least make a fucking effort to WORD IT IN AN ORIGINAL WAY.

    twat.
