In true Fergie style, Man Utd left it late to secure a celebratory victory at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Rio Ferdinand walloping home a rare goal on 87 minutes to give the retiring Red Devils’ boss a final home victory.

Javier Hernandez opened the scoring on 39 minutes but after the break Michu netted a fine equaliser as the Swans threatened to spoil the Fergie love-in. However, ultimately, as had happened so often under the United icon’s watch, the Red Devils secured the win late on.

As well as giving a fine send off to Sir Alex, Old Trafford also said a fond farewell to Paul Scholes who is (once again) hanging up his boots. Over to you, Mr Moyes…
