If you’ll excuse the slightly tenuous use of the word “legend” for a moment, a squad full of Manchester United old boys are currently whipping themselves into shape to take on a selection of equally venerable ex-Real Madrid players in aid of charity at Old Trafford on 2nd June.
United ledges such as Brian Robson, Lee Sharpe, Dennis Irwin, Edwin van der Sar, Teddy Sheringham, Jaap Stam, Clayton Blackmore, Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole and…erm…Dion Dublin and Mikael Silvestre are all due to turn out for United, while Real Madrid will (provisionally, of course) count the likes of Fernando Hierro, Claude Makelele, Zinedine Zidane, Steve McManaman, Fernando Redondo, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Luis Figo among their number.
It’s a fairly high-falutin’ affair…
They’ll also be live performances from JLS, Tinchy Stryder & Amelia Lily so be sure to turn up late to miss all that crap.
Tickets are on sale now if you fancy a stroll down memory lane all in the name of a good cause.
