Here’s Scholesy proving he’s still got it, casually knocking one in from his own half during a recent kick-about somewhere in his neck of the woods…

Chadderton Park Legends vs Chaddy Park Veterans (for whom Scholes was playing) in the Chadderton Park Sports Club Over-35s Veteran League, in case you were wondering.

Love how Scholes always crops up at these seemingly random, low-profile games. It’s how we like to think we’d spend our retirement if we’d played at a pro level.

Good stuff. Just look at his little face…

‘I’ll still remember the own goal.’
Looks like Scholesy is going downhill with his form despite this goal ;)

  2. Joe says:

Is he wearing French shorts and socks?

  3. Applesauce says:

    Classic Pies reporting.

I’m pretty sure that Scholes is playing for the Legends (in Yellow) – as it notes in the beginning of the video.

I hate the dipshit as much as the next guy, but I’m pretty sure he’s at least a legend in whereverthefuckchaddertonis.

@Joe: Keen eye. How and why has he gone and nicked himself a pair of those?

I’ve got no affinity towards Scholes or Utd, but the man obviously loves to play football, and that’s great (and rare) to see from a professional football player.

I wonder how many phone calls from Moyes he’s ignored since August…

calm down apple is a light hearted story about an old favorite, nobody cares which team he played for.

that aside the story confirms what we know about scholesy he loves playing football, he doesn’t love fame! brilliant bloke

Chadderton is just up the road from my work, it’s north manchester, same kind of area as newton heath

It’s depressing to see that even people in the U.K. find it okay to misuse words in a trendy fashion.

My work – that is something you do.
My workplace – that is the place where you do that work.

A location cannot be up the road from your work.

I thought it was only Amurkins who spoke and wrote like this…

ps – you also can’t grow a business. You can grow a carrot. You can grow a wart. You can double the number of your clients. But, you cannot grow a business.

    Got it?

  8. Ron says:

More on topic, is it stated in his contract that he can play in these? Seems like fear of injury would have Man Utd. say no way.

That’s what Mark Cavendish’s cycling team just said when he wanted to race on the velodrome to prepare for the next Olympics. You’re paid to race on the road, lad.

  9. Stickan says:

    Ron:

You missed the bit when he retired?

  10. Steve says:

    Ron,

You’ve ruined it. You’ve just gone and ruined it.

I was filled with warm hearted joy until I read the comments.

Now I feel sad, stupid and rather angry.
