Chelsea 3-1 Manchester United -Premier League – 19th January 2013
Manchester United find themselves 14 points behind league-leaders Arsenal tonight after going down 3-0 to Chelsea. Samuel Eto’o nabbed all three goals for the Blues as United’s defence produced a dismal display. The visitors, shorn of both Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie, had started brightly with Ashley Young going close and Adnan Januzaj looking lively. However, the Red Devils found themselves behind on 18 minute, courtesy of a deflected effort from Eto’o. The Cameroon hitman made it 2-0 just before half-time before completing his hat-trick just after the break. United di get one back, courtesy of sub Javier Hernandez but overall they looked way off a side with title hopes, which they surely don;t have anymore. Nemanja Vidic was also sent off late on, arguably harshly although Rafael then received a yellow at the death when he deserved to see red. Poor old Daivd Moyes has a lot of work ahead of him.
