Arsenal 0-0 Manchester United – Premier League – 12th February 2014
This had the air of a game in which both managers wanted to consolidate after suffering poor results at the weekend and thus there was little excitement throughout. Robin Van Persie failed to convert an early chance after an error from Mikel Arteta while late on the Dutchman saw his point-blank header superb saved by Wojciech Szczęsny. In between those two chances for the visitors, the Gunners had the lion’s share of possession but the few chances they did create weren’t out away by a misfiring Olivier Giroud. Laurent Koscielny also saw a header cleared off the line but overall neither side did anything to write home about. Arsenal go a point behind leaders Chelsea while the Red Devils are now eight points off fifth spot.
