Manchester United 0-3 Liverpool – Premier League – 16th March 2014

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Manchester United v Liverpool - Old Trafford

Two of Liverpool’s three goals at Old Trafford may have come from the penalty spot but the visitors were well worth their 3-0 win against a United side shorn of any of last season’s confidence and verve.

Steven Gerrard netted the two penalties, one in either half, while he could have had a hat-trick of spot-kick,s, only for a third effort to hit the base of David De Gea’s post. However, Luis Suarez soon made it 3-0 to score an emphatic win for the visitors.

A painful day for David Moyes and co. but for the Reds, their title aspirations continue to grow.

Looks like England is now the official international team of divers. Young, Welbeck, Sturridge… who else?
If England play against a south american team in Brasil I believe we’ll see 8 or 9 penalties for each side.

Notice a certain mr Wright couldn’t bring himself to write this article. Yet he’s all over the sturridge pen and Gary neville tweet ones. Hmmm

crawled out from under your rock have you? i remember when this site was fun and unbiased. all we seem to get these days is rose tinted views from half arsed writers that still think its hip to talk like yoda in 2014. perhaps the once mighty who ate all the pies is in a state of transition like your beloved man u

  5. Nuno says:

@Carra23 if you try opening a few match reports you’ll see most of them are written by Alan. I believe it’s the division they agreed, that Alan writes most match reports, unless unable to do so (this weekend’s reports are all on Alan)
But yeah, your theory that Chris should be weeping over the loss or something sounds a lot more credible…

  6. Jarren says:

I don’t know how it’s escaped your attention, carra23, but Chris supports Nottingham Forest.

Ya know, it’s kinda there on every post he makes?

    Anyway, back to the topic.

As a United supporter all I can say is WE PLAYED LIKE WARM PISS AND DESERVED TO BE BEATEN 5-0.

Honestly. I don’t mind if we lose every so often, this IS a time of transition after all. But WHY is the team playing like a cross between Allardyce & Pulis (only with less flair)?

Not once during this game did I actually believe we would score, let alone create a chance.

For vast swathes of the game it may as well have been Anfield.
