Manchester United 0-3 Manchester City – Premier League – 25th March 2014
A first-minute goal from Edin Dzeko set the tone for this one-sided Manchester derby, with the home side struggling to match a rampant City side. David Silva was outstanding for the visitors, while United’s very own Spanish schemer Juan Mata failed to make his mark on the game.
Marouane Fellaini was also lucky not to see red for an elbow on Pablo Zabaleta as David Moyes’ charges toiled throughout the 90 minutes. Second-half goals from Dzeko and the outstanding Yaya Touré sealed the deal for Manual Pellegrini’s side who are now three points behind league-leaders Chelsea with two games in hand. United, on the other hand, continue to plod through their dismal campaign.
