Kudos to Wayne Rooney who, despite not even featuring in Manchester United’s matchday squad for their game against Newcastle this weekend due to a badly bruised toe sustained midweek, still managed to play his way into The Sun’s ‘Team of the Day’ for Saturday…

Top stuff, almost Garth Crooks-esque.

I have heard of Hugo Rodallega, but of Hugo “Rodellaga”?

  2. Patrick says:

Must say, I’m intrigued by their 3-5-2 formation with 6 wingers/attacking mids, very interesting.

the word professional is probably not in their vocabulary. if it is, it’s probably spelt wrong

  4. AC says:

The Sun’s team of the day is usually made up of the only players who still give interviews to their journo’s.

  5. Rat says:

You see i told you Rooney was world class. Best player on the field, even when he’s at home!

  6. Bandolero says:

@savage Errr, overlooking the lack of upper-case in your two sentences (I know, I know, the SHIFT key is broken on your computer) I think your complaint about a lack of professionalism would have carried more weight if your last word had been “wrongly”. Since ‘spelt’ is a verb we need an adverb (wrongly) to modify it, not an adjective (wrong).
I know, I should get out more.

  7. Jarren says:

Also, Bandolero, it should be “spelled” and not “spelt”.

But yes, you should get out more. ;)
