Corinthians young defender Dodo has revealed his potential move to Manchester United isn’t as dead as his name might suggest.

United signed a ‘first option’ deal with the Brazilian club for the 17 year old centre back last year, but it was believed to have expired in February of this year.

However the youngster has revealed that the Premier League champions have first dibs on him until he turns 21 (in 2013);

“This is so complicated that sometimes I do not understand the law. There is a contract with Manchester United and also Corinthians, which runs through to when I turn 21 years of age. So things are still quite slow.”

In other Manchester United/Brazilian child prodigy news, United are also said to be tracking Figueirense midfielder Roberto Firmino who is apparently rated at around €3 million and has, almost inevitably, been dubbed the ‘new Paul Scholes’.
