Manchester United 0-1 Sunderland – Premier League – 3rd May 2014
Sunderland took another great big step to Premier League security for yet another system at Old Trafford on Saturday, where they deservedly beat a flaccid Man Utd side 1-0.
Seb Larsson scored the only goal of the game on the half-hour mark but it could’ve been more for the Black Cats who counter-attacked with menace time and time again. Emanuele Giaccherini and Fabio Borini both hit the woodwork for Gus Poyet’s side while the Red Devils’ interim boss Ryan Giggs watched his side struggled to create anything at all.
Sunderland now find themselves three points clear of 18th placed Norwich while United are six points off sixth-placed Tottenham.
