David Beckham and Paul Scholes react as Man Utd are dumped out of League Cup by York in ’95
Having missed out on Europe under the failed reign of David Moyes, Manchester United were involved in the Capital One Cup second round draw for the first time since 1995 (when ‘Fergie’s fledglings’ lost 4-3 on aggregate to York City).
In the draw, Louis van Gaal’s men were given an away trip to MK Dons, a relatively cushy tie which should still see the Red Devils progress. The rest of the draw sees little really standout games, although Sunderland face a difficult away game with Birmingham while Bradford face Leeds in what should be a feisty all-Yorkshire affair.
