Transfer Balls: Rounding up the day’s football tittle-tattle so you don’t have to…

Blues Yearning For Yaya

Chelsea are planning a surprise  move for Yaya Touré, accoring to the Telegraph (via the Express). The Ivorian powerhouse is expected to leave the Etihad in the summer with Inter Milan rumoured to be his most likely destination. However now, Jose Mourinho has thrown his trophy-laden hat into the ring for the 32-year-old.

Considering Touré is also adept at playing in central defence, the forma Barcelona man still has a lot of offer, although a move to west London does sound a tad fanciful.

Cherries Chase Lambert

Ex-Southampton striker Rickie Lambert may be heading back to the south coast, according to the Mirror, with the Liverpool-flop linked with a move to Premier League new-boys Bournemouth. With only seven starts in the league this season, Lambert’s dream move to Anfield never really took off for the 33-year-old and a move back down south could kickstart his career.

Lambert may well be in the autumn of his playing days, but with Cherries’ boss Eddie Howe eager to add some top-flight experience to this Championship-winning side, the striker could find himself back playing regular football in 15/16.

Red Devils Reel In Berahino & Gray

Kings of transfer hyperbole, the Metro are linking Manchester United with a double swoop for both West Brom’s Saido Berahino and Birmingham City’s Demarai Gray. While Berahino has enjoyed a fine season in the top-tier with the Baggies, 18-year-old winger Gray has been in superb form for the Blues in the 14/15.

The Metro claims that the purchase of these two youngsters may appeal to Louis van Gaal as cheaper alternatives to Lazio’s in-form attacker Felipe Anderson, who the Red Devils have also been tracking. Although, remember, the Metro has previously linked both Arsenal and Liverpool with a move for Gray.

Reds Reel In Jovetic

The Mirror reports that Liverpool are eager to sign Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic. The Montenegrin has struggled at the Etihad since his move from Fiorentina and Brendan Rodgers is keen to add the gifted attacker to his squad, with both Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli headed for the exit door.

Man City are planning a major clear-out this summer, with Jovetic certain to be jettisoned. While he cost the Citizens £22 million in 2013, they are willing to let him go for just £12million, a price the Reds are happy to pay. This one does look feasible.
