Transfer Balls: Rounding up the day’s football tittle-tattle so you don’t have to…

Reds Fall For Falcao

We’ve already heard how Chelsea are interested in signing Radamel Falcao, but now the Star tells us that Liverpool are planning a swoop for the Colombian, who flopped badly in his loan spell at Manchester United. Brendan Rodgers is desperate to revitalise his forward line and may be willing to take a risk on the injury-prone Falcao, massive wage demands and everything.

The lure of Champions League football may still see the Monaco striker move to Stamford Bridge this summer, and one wonders if Liverpool really need another striker with a dismal injury record.

Red Devils Keen On Kane

The Manchester Evening News tells us that Man Utd are preparing a big money move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane. Despite having already signed Memphis Depay, Louis van Gaal is itching to splash some more cash this summer, with England man Kane high on his shopping list.

A (ridiculous) figure of £50million has been quoted before in relation to Kane, and the Red Devils will be aware of the challenge they face in negotiating with Spurs head honcho, Daniel Levy. However, the chance to play Champions Lague football will undoubtedly interest the 31-goal hitman.

Gunners Clear To Move For Martinez

No stranger to the back pages in recent weeks, Jackson Martinez has edged closer to a move to Arsenal, according to the Metro. AC Milan have also been sniffing around the Porto goal-machine but now they have apparently dropped out of the race to sign the Colombian, leaving the way open for the Gunners.

Available for £25million, the striker would give Olivier Giroud and co. a bit of competition for that central striking berth at Arsenal. Although, with Theo Walcott’s impressive late season flourish and Danny Welbeck eager to impress, one wonders if Arsene Wenger will bring in a striker at all.

Man Utd Firm Up Firmino Bid

Back to Manchester United, ESPN tell us that the Red Devils are on the brink of signing Brazilian attacker Roberto Firmino. The Hoffenheim star is currently with Brazil at the Copa America but apparently a rather low £13.1million deal has already been agreed.

The 23-year-old netted 10 goals in 36 games for Hoffenheim last season from an attacking midfield berth, and would link up nicely with the likes of Juan Mata and Utd new-boy Memphis Depay.

Baggies Fancy Bamford

After a superb season in the Championship with Middlesbrough, Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford is wanted by a number of clubs, with West Brom now hoping to swoop for the striker. The Birmingham Mail report that the Baggies are keen on the 21-year-old, with Tony Pulis eager to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2015/15 campaign.

Available for around £8million, Bamford could well make the step up to the top-tier next season, although Jose Mourinho might keep the forward for himself.

The best/worst of the rest:

Former Newcastle man Yohan Cabaye is eager for a return to the Premier League, Norwich want West Brom enforcer Youssouf Mulumbu and Aston Villa are closing in on former England man Micah Richards.
