Transfer Balls: Rounding up the day’s football tittle-tattle so you don’t have to…

Man Utd Splurge €100million On Muller

German outlet Sport1 have quite the juicy story here, claiming that Manchester United have bid a whopping €100million for Thomas Muller as their summer spending spree continues. The Red Devils have already done business with Muller’s Bayern Munich this season, signing Bastian Schweinsteiger for around £14million. However, the bid for Muller, which is around in £70million in Sterling, is on another level altogether.

The Mirror, however, are convinced that there is no truth in this story, with sources at Old Trafford dismissing the rumour. Still, ya never know!

Blues Bid For Baba

Chelsea look set to seal a £14million deal for Abdul Baba Rahmann. The Blues have been eyeing the Augsburg left-back for some time and are now able to proceed with the move, with Felipe Luis moving back to Atletico Madrid.

The 21-year-old Rahmann shone in the Bundesliga last season but if he does indeed make the move to Stamford Bridge, he’ll face the same problem as the outgoing Felipe Luis – how to wrestle the left-back starting berth from Cesar Azpilicueta.

Eagles Swoop For Williams

The Metro has rehashed a Mirror rumour from a few days ago, which claimed Crystal Palace are planning to bid £10million for Ashley Williams. The Swansea captain has been a rock at the back for the upwardly mobile Swans and now, apparently, Eagles’ boss Alan Pardew wants the Welsh international at Selhurt Park.

While Swans’ boss Garry Monk will no doubt want to hold on to Williams, £10million for a 30-year-old could well tempt the Swansea board into agreeing to a deal.

Canaries Chirp For Lambert

Already a target for West Brom, Rickie Lambert now find himself in the crosshairs of Premier League new-boys Norwich City, according to the Mirror. The 33-year-old struggled to make the grade at Liverpool and is now deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield by Brendan Rodgers, with Christian Benteke on the cusp of joining the Merseysiders.

The Canaries are eager to add some top-tier experience to their squad ahead of the new season and Lambert, with his goals and assists, fits the bill.

Villa Vying For Adebayor

Tim Sherwood seems to be missing those infamous salutes, with the Aston Villa boss keen on bringing Emmanuel Adebayor to Villa Park, according to the Mail. Sherwood and Adebayor enjoyed a prodcutive spell together at Tottenham and with Christian Benteke headed for Liverpool, the Villans are in need of some firepower.

While the 31-year-old former Arsenal hitman has been priced ay £5million by Spurs big cheese Daniel Levy, a loan deal for the Togo star may be sanctioned if Villa are willing to stump uphis £100,000 per week wages. Let’s hope this deal happens – we need more salutes in football!
