Fergie in typical high spirits

As Alex Ferguson was trotting out his xenophobic “Typical Germans” comment in an interview with ITV’s excellent Gabriel Clarke after last night’s Champions League exit, you can hear someone screaming “Cheats!” in the background. Listen to the interview here (you can hear the background noise at around 80secs into the clip)

Presumably it was a comment aimed at Bayern Munich’s players. But who do you think might have said it?

They’ve muted the background noise on the website but you can tell when the shouting starts, as SAF becomes distracted by something going on over Gabe’s shoulder.

  2. jason says:

    Classless as usual.

  3. Conan says:

Hasnt SAF learnt not to give interviews when hes pissed off yet? No doubt he will get into some sort of trouble for it.

  4. Mathers says:

    Brilliant!!!! Typical Germans!

  5. gareth Fieldstead says:

Funny how the usual if you all hate scousers chant was absent last night. You never know Rooney might take it personal one day! How ironic that your whole season has depended on the fat one delivering. Without him Utd would be lucky to be in the top 6 at best, oh dear!!!

  6. Charles says:

Not while ago, Man U players lead by one Mr Roy Keane verbally and almost physically manhandled a PL ref for having the nerve to give a free kick against them.
Last night a ref with balls stood his own and made all the right decisions. The players may have surrounded him before he sent off Rafeal but that dosen’t make the offence a non-bookable offence. I don’t know what the fuss is about.
The press and SAF are insinuating that Bayern players were delibrately kicking Rooney’s ankle. Please!! Rooney was declared fit and as such he should be tackled just like any other player in the pitch. What do you expected them to do? back away from him and watch him score because he is Rooney.
Man U are out of the CL and should move on. No more conspiracy theory against PL clubs, its becoming laughable.

  7. Stuart says:

How you can deduct it was fletcher from that is beyond me

  8. Jock says:

Typical Fergie – graceless. Rafeal’s second yellow was a definite yellow – end of story, Bayern players reaction or no reaction. As for Fletcher complaining about pressuring the referee, he’s having a laugh. This is a guy who is in the ref’s face all game, every game.

By the way, half the “Typical Germans” in Bayern’s team and most of the guys who surrounded the ref aren’t German.

Typical Germans? Typical Ferguson, more like.

  9. basti.lfc says:

always the same with fergie and his mancunians…they just cannot lose and blame others for their misery..very very poor, shame on manure !

  10. kritter says:

Man Utd players would never do that!

Love that there were 4 (I think) Germans on the field. Most of the Bayern starting 11 are not Germans. Fergie… what a twat.

  11. callum says:

hahahahha didn’t know this was it..
no matter what you rags say it was a 2nd yellow, he wudda booked him nevertheless
bring it on wen u cum to our place next week..and wen we finish 4th and united 3rd!
    the future is blue

  12. LGHU says:

Of course FCB cheated. It’s clearly stated in the Laws of the Game that Man Utd is guaranteed the win, and Bayern didn’t play by the rule. As recompense, SAF has been given credit for ten (10) Thai massages at any parlour pre-approved by Avram Grant.

  13. Dan says:

Fergie: What a brilliant, miserable bastard and sore loser. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

  14. I_love_whiskey says:

lol @ Dan…except you forgot the trait red-nose-whiskey-swilling-twat in your list.

  15. Jayfuz says:

so they did surround the ref flashing imaginary card.
