Having been nominated for 12 Oscars, there is real hype surrounding Leo Di Caprio’s latest cinematic offering The Revenant, a lengthy tale of betrayal and revenge set in the freezing wilds of Montana and South Dakota.

In fact, the epicentre of the buzz appears to be somewhere in the heart of the Manchester United dressing room, with a slew of players all taking to Twitter recently to voice their excitement at seeing the movie, all in suspiciously similar form.

This is but a sample of those Tweets…

As you may have guessed, it’s absolutely no coincidence that the aforementioned United players can’t ruddy well wait to see The Revenant.

As the Manchester Evening News latterly revealed, the Tweets are part of a partnership deal with 20th Century Fox, which also saw the movie studio’s famous theme tune played shortly before United’s last home game and The Revenant advertised extensively on the hoardings around Old Trafford.

Bleurgh.

Grumble grumble modern football grumble grumble.

You can easily see why when you watch a Man United game on Tv. There are sponsorship boards all over Old Trafford.

    “”THE REVENANT, January 15″”

  2. EDub says:

Makes sense … hoping to take their fans’ minds off what’s happening on the pitch.

(Insert bear rape scene LVG joke here.)

  4. I for one applaud the integrity and spirit of free enterprise shown by the less well paid ManU staff. If you can’t make a few quid on Twitter then what’s it for?
