Oh, what a beautiful morning. Here’s the round-up…

Rumour No. 1: AC Milan are considering a £20 million raid on Manchester United for misfiring striker Dimitar Berbatov.

An anonymous spokesman for the Serie A giants has been quoted as saying;

“No contact has been made yet but we admire Berbatov. He is a strong player who would do very well in Italy. Whether something can be arranged remains to be seen. It has been difficult for Berbatov in Manchester but he is a good player who has a lot to offer.”

There you go.

Rumour No. 2: Volatile forward Craig Bellamy is reportedly said to be ready to make his Manchester City exit after growing increasingly frustrated with manager Roberto Mancini’s training methods and style of football.

Apparently the relationship between the two is now so uneasy that the stroppy Welshman has privately expressed his desire to leave on numerous occasions.

Well, he has been at City for over a year now…

The Best of the Rest: Staying in Manchester for the time being, The Guardian seems to think that ‘the blue half’ are edging out ‘the red half’ in the race to sign James Milner in the summer. The fact that Milner has two years left to run on his contract and neither he nor Villa have expressed any desire to part company doesn’t seem to be a factor.

Manchester United are tracking Newcastle midfielder Haris Vuckic. The 17-year-old Slovenian has made three first-team appearances this season.

Barcelona are mulling over a £10 million swoop for Arsenal left-back Gael Clichy.

Lyon are readying a £7.5 million bid for Arsenal bench-warmer Eduardo. Mordez leurs mains au loin – or something like that.

Everton are close to completing the signing of Standard Liege striker Dieumerci Mbokani.

Tottenham are keeping tabs on Hull ‘keeper Boaz Myhill, and will move for the Welshman should The Tigers be relegated from the Premier League.

Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish will attempt to sign Manchester United’s reserve ‘keeper Ben Foster on a year-long loan deal next season.

West Ham and Wigan are competing for the signature of Espanyol’s 23-year-old striker Jose Maria Callejon.
