As was first announced a few weeks ago, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is getting his own statue outside the Swedish national stadium in Stockholm.
The news was broken shortly after the Manchester United striker won the 11th Guldbollen award of his career, with the Swedish FA confirming that they were planning to erect a 2.7-metre tall effigy outside the Friends Arena.
What the Swedish FA neglected to mention, however, is that said effigy would be semi-naked…
After unveiling the model, Ibrahimovic himself wrote on Instagram:
When you come to New York you have the Statue of Liberty, when you come to Sweden you have the Statue of Zlatan #comingsoon
We do hope all this adoration doesn’t go to his head.
