Chelsea extended their winning-streak to an incredible 10 games in the Premier League on Wednesday night, with the Blues winning a hard-fought clash with Sunderland.
Antonio Conte’s men came away from the Stadium of Light with a 1-0 win with Cesc Fabregas getting the all-important goal. However, the league leaders had Thibaut Courtois to thank for a superb match-winning save at the death.
Courtois’ heroics came in injury time, with the Belgian producing a magnificent stop to deny Patrick van Aanholt…
While Courtois was helping Chelsea to all three points in Sunderland, in south London, David De Gea produced a pivotal display in Manchester United’s 2-1 win at Crystal Palace.
De Gea’s super save came just after the hour-mark, with United 1-0 up courtesy of a Paul Pogba effort.
James McArthur was the man thwarted by De Gea, with the midfielder’s shot headed for the top corner before the Spaniard somehow managed to palm the ball away…
What a save! McArthur would eventually find the back of the net for the Eagles, only for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to win it for United at the end.
While Chelsea go six points clear at the top of the table, Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils find themselves sith, 13 points behind the pace-setting Londoners.
