A late Zlatan Ibrahimovic goal secured a point for Manchester United at home to Liverpool in a game which was far more entertaining than the 0-0 bore-draw back in October at Anfield.

In a game with a fair few flashpoints, one incident late on saw Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp lose it with Jose Mourinho on the touchline.

A rather inexplicable handball from Paul Pogba in the United box gave Liverpool a chance to open the scoring on 27 minutes, with James Milner converting the resulting penalty.

However, the Red Devils pushed for an equaliser, with both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan thwarted by Simon Mignolet in the first half.

Pogba also missed a great chance to level the scores when through on goal. Although the Frenchman was arguably lucky not to pick up a card from wrestling Jordan Henderson to the ground at a corner.

Sub Wayne Rooney was lucky not to see red after a rather nasty studs up challenge on James Milner.

Then, on 84 minutes, the equaliser United’s play merited finally came when Ibrahimovic headed home from an Antonio Fellaini pass after Marouane Fellaini had hit the post.

Then, before the end, Ander Herrera cynically pulled back Roberto Firmino in the middle of the pitch, with the Brazilian shoving the Spaniard onto the ground in response and the United man then theatrically holding his face.

The incident had Klopp fuming, with the Liverpool boss accusing Mourinho of trying to get Firmino sent off…

The dramatic clash would end all-square, a result which sees Liverpool third, seven points behind leaders Chelsea and United sixth, five points further back.
