Manchester United booked their place in last last 16 of the Champions League after coming from behind to beat CSKA Moscow 2-1 at Old Trafford.

That win extended the Red Devils’ unbeaten run at home to 40 games, equaling their best-ever run without losing on home soil from 1965.

Jose Mourinho started Luke Shaw on the left of a five-man defence, but it was the visitors who would open the scoring just before the break through Alan Dzagoev, who diverted in Vitinho’s shot, albeit while in an offside position.

However, on 64 minutes, the hosts got the goal their performance deserved, with out-of-form striker Romelu Lukaku netting his 13th goal of the season.

Just over a minute later, United scored again, with Marcus Rashford firing home to secure the win for Jose Mourinho’s men.

United finish the group stages top of Group A, three points clear of FC Basel and in good shape ahead of the knockout stages in the new-year (and ahead of the weekend’s Manchester derby).
