Riled up by his side’s topsy-turvy performance against Crystal Palace last night, the pent-up emotion eventually got the better of Jose Mourinho when he sent a water bottle skipping toward a section of the home fans sat behind his dugout.
The Manchester United boss was immediately apologetic after realising he’d unwittingly launched the bottle into the stands, holding up his hands and praying for forgiveness…

Oopsy daisy.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the final whistle, the Portuguese coach said:
It was empty. One thing is with the referee and another thing is basic frustration of the game without any sort of aggression and good fun with people behind.
Maybe they (Crystal Palace supporters) like me here because I keep saying this stadium and these fans are absolutely beautiful.
Ordinarily, we’d suggest that Mourinho is unlikely to incur any punishment for his little mishap – but then again, this is a man with a chequered history of bottle abuse…
Mourinho received a one-match ban for that little outburst (against West Ham in 2016) after The FA decreed he “aggressively kicked the bottle in a manner that could have endangered people around him”.
Let’s hope they throw the bloody book at him this time round.
