Last night a DJ ruined my life. Here’s the round up…

Rumour No. 1: Bayern Munich are preparing a £14 million summer bid for Manchester United misfit Dimitar Berbatov.

The Bundesliga giants will wait until after the Champions League final on May 22nd to make their move for the Bulgarian forward but may face competition from Italy, namely AC Milan, for the 29-year-old.

Rumour No. 2: Arsenal have been linked with a trio of midfield talent in the shape of Barcelona’s Yaya Toure, Lyon’s Jeremy Toulalan and Everton’s Mikel Arteta.

Toure’s agent has stated that the Ivorian has a 99% chance of leaving the Camp Nou in the summer, with long-term admirers Arsenal being his favoured destination.

French international scrapper Toulalan has also been on Arsene Wenger‘s radar for some time now and the 26-year-old midfielder is set to move on from Lyon after achieving all there is to achieve in Ligue 1.

Arteta has apparently been sounded out by Wenger as a direct replacement for ‘Cesc Fabregas, but only if the Gunner’s skipper is finally spirited away by Barcelona’s relentless advances.

The Best of the Rest: Chelsea are planning a squad clearout that will see Deco, Ricardo Carvalho, Paulo Ferreira, Juliano Belletti and Joe Cole leaving the club.

Chelsea have also been linked with a £14 million move for Manchester City outcast Stephen Ireland and with Nott’s County ‘keeper Kasper Schmeichel, who will be allowed to leave The Magpies on a free transfer during the summer.

Manchester United are preparing a move for £21-million-rated Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra.

Manchester City are set to gamble on the ‘bad boy of Italian football’ (and also owner of the world’s biggest persecution complex), Inter Milan’s Mario Balotelli.

City are also chasing Napoli’s Slovakian playmaker Marek Hamsik.

Tottenham are eyeing a £12 million bid for Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, currently of AC Milan.

Liverpool are to make £8-million-rated Valencia midfielder Ever Banega (dubbed ‘The Argentinian Alonso) their first signing of the summer.

Sevilla and Aston Villa are monitoring Yossi Benayoun‘s contract situation at Liverpool.

Birmingham have made initial enquiries about a move for £10-million-rated West Ham target man Carlton Cole.

Fulham are set to lodge a £2 million bid for Lyon striker Frederic Piquionne, who is currently on loan at Portsmouth.

    Chelsea Summer 2010

Out; Deco, Ballack, Joe Cole, Belletti, Ferreira, Anelka, Kalou

Igor Akinfeev should be brought in to replace Cech in the near future (they can fight for the top job over the next 12 months or so until Cech leaves).Akinfeev is better that Delac, though Delac is one for the future. Roman is close to CSKA and Akinfeev, Dzagoev and Doumbia are both being lined up for potential futures at Stamford Bridge (Tomas Necid, Vagner Love and Milos Krasic are also possible movers on the CSKA–Chelsea axis)

For Deco forget Hamsik unfortunately he seems Inter bound (but he’d be ideal if he changed his mind…). Pjanic really stood up during the CL but RM have been after him since he sent them out. Dzagoev is a Chelsea fan, and part of CSKA’s Chelsea factory. David Silva will probably end up staying in Spain, as good as he’d be he is not the most likely of the group. Kaka is also possible if part of a swap with RM for Ashley Cole. Kaka is also possible but unlikely.

Contractually Ballack is still up in the air, he’s been linked with Liverpool (not happening), Inter (maybe), Bayern (most likely). If he goes Schweinstiger is the obvious replacement. Matic will have a role to play but we need a true replacement for Michael as Matic won’t be truly ready for a few years yet.

Joe Cole is all but gone. Front runner Angel di Maria aside, the options boil down to Miroslav Stoch, Gai Assulin and Thaigo Alcantara both of whom’s availability depends on what happens at Barcelona transfer wise (regarding Cesc), the man from their cross town rival’s, Javi Martinez is another option. Hatem Ben Arfa is an unlikely signing, but would be great as would Diego Perotti and Joao Moutinho.

Neven Subotic and David Luiz have all been mentioned, with Luiz (alongside Bruma) is probably the best option to replace Belletti and Ferreira. Darijo Srna, Juan Manuel Vargas and Dani Alves are all possible movers but unlikely ones. Giorgio Chiellini would be a great signing, unlikely but with Carlo around you never know.

For Anelka, the clear front runner is Aguero. Pato seems destined to one day join Chelsea, Milan are desperate not to loose him for next season the likely outcome will be Pato signing this season and being loaned back to Milan, whilst Aguero/Suarez come in this year. Finally there is Luis Suarez who is in if Citeh outbids us in the race for Aguero. Villa and Torres are possible but unlikely.

As for Kalou there are several options, Moussa Dembele a highly talented and strong physical forward, who fits in well with our style of play. Though potentially outclassed by rising stars Romelu Lukaku and Lacina Traore any of those three would be good signings. There is also Neymar. Romelu Lukaku is a must! Seydou Doumbia’s move to CSKA moves him into Abramovich’s orbit.

For youth signings, Uruguay’s Urreta should be a 2012 priority signing. Christian Eriksen and Romelu Lukaku should also be key targets. Lukaku in particular must not be allowed to slip through our fingers.
