The Carlos Tevez saga: satisfactory conclusion or whitewash?
It seems Carlos Tevez’s protracted move to Manchester United might finally be completed today. The prospect of a court case has sobered up all parties and a deal appears to have been struck. Tevez is expected to move to Old Trafford on a two-year loan deal with West Ham receiving £2 million in compensation. The Argentine will pick up more than double that this season alone with a salary of £4.5 million. Manchester United then have the option of completing a £30 million permanent deal.
What is the verdict, Pies fans? I suspect, unless more details come out later today which prove me wrong, that this is more of a quick-fix than a solution. It would be no surprise if a couple of years down the line West Ham and Kia Joorabchian are squabbling again over who should get what cut of the transfer fee.

Joorabchian facing death by papercuts would be a satisfactory conclusion.

As long as United got their man, I’m happy!
Blatant cover-up. Surely someone from the Premier League needs to admit what a farce this has been, because they’re becoming a laughing stock.
Why would West Ham allow Tevez to go to Man Utd for 2 years on a loan? Or do they just have no say over what happens? This whole thing has confused the hell out of me.
United’s poor showing on the last game of the season with West Ham needing points to stay up and now the (loan, admittedly) signing of Tevez?
Conspiracies abound!
First the ‘hilariously expensive’ Lord Steven’s ‘Quest’ investigations that did admittedly (read: ‘eventually’) ruffle some feathers and now this.
We may have one of the better leagues in Europe but by jove we have a bunch of inept b’stards running the show.
I’m losing faith in the F.A almost as quickly as I am with Dave Allen (The chairman, not the sweary comedian :P)
Unsatisfactory to say the least (especially as an LFC fan). Bent goes for 16.5 and Tevez goes for….two!? That’s insane.
The FA is a complete joke. Everyone can see that it’s dodgy, and I guess they’re hoping no one says anything.
I think it’s a great deal going for a loan for now, instead of spending 30 million all at once on a striker who has not even “properly” proven himself.
Regardless of the various conspiracy theories that abound, we all knew Man United were a dirty side and they have scraped the ground to get their man. Terry and Carvalho will wipe the bloody ground with them. FUck ya!
And so will Senderos! And Toure! and Gallas! And Song…
Oh.
if I was a Sheff utd fan I would be feeling a bit vexed just now….points deduction anyone?
