76470813.jpgFor the past few weeks we’ve been musing over Manchester United’s shortage of strikers, wondering if they would spend again and who would be the ideal signing.
Groans could be heard from Manchester when the transfer window closed without a new front man posing for pictures holding a No.9 shirt. But, could it be that they had their man all along?
Louis Saha’s time at United has been so blighted by injuries it’s easy to forget the fragile Frenchman is even there. But he made an immediate impact in his first start of the season – scoring the winner against Sunderland.
Having a genuine front man seemed to give more freedom to United’s more inventive forwards who have seemed more comfortable creating than clinically finishing in the first few games.
So, is Saha the man to score the goals at the end of all United’s chances?

He scored accidentaly on saturday and teams are all 15 goal striker this and 20 goal that saha has managed that in 3 years!
God! Roque santa cruz is a better striker

  2. 1 United says:

Saha has actually scored more goals than that since moving to England his averaged a goal every 2.5 games and you claim Roque santa cruz is better are you serious a player that so far in his club career averaged 1 goal every 5 games, Do the maths or is that not you strong point. Saha is definitely capable of scoring 15-20 goals a season if he is not injured. He brings pace and an aerial threat which United have been lacking. As good as Tevez may be he drops deep just like Rooney and he can’t work as an out and out striker, the change in him was obvious when Saha came on and took the forward role, United played better and created more chances. Personally I think they should have signed Anelka for cheap until Tottenham decide to let us have Berbatov, with the loss of solskjaer Saha is our only proper striker, but the risk of injury is always there

  3. Peter says:

All you need to do is watch him, his movement, ability in the air and natural finishing to see he is a top class striker. At Man U prolific scoring is not easy because of the style of play… everyone gets in on the goals, a good thing!
Saha is the man to watch at Man U if he can stay fit that is.

  4. Bezzo says:

An out and out striker is what we need and Saha is all we have. We are a better team with him playing but we do need another stiker to cover for the “fragil Frenchman” – nice!

  5. Clayton says:

One goal, a season rescue does not make.

  6. Bill Graham says:

Saha is a reasonable striker not prolific,it would be advantagous to buy in the January window and Untd need to start now with enquiries on Spainish and Italian teams who may release potential strikers then.Unfortunately Saha is injury prone and it would not surprise me if he is unavailable for selection between now and the end of the year..if so point proved and why on earth they dont grasp this at Untd I will never know.If they want to be serious contenders for honours this year they cannot afford to be complacent and its no good waiting for players to be made available you have to get out there and make it happen
