Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has confirmed that Manchester United have made an initial approach for Wesley Sneijder.

Sneijder has enjoyed an impressive World Cup with the Netherlands so far and is chasing an unprecedented personal quadruple this season as a result, after winning both the Italian league, the Italian cup and the Champions League as part of Jose Mourinho‘s invincible Nerazzurri squad.

Inter boss Rafa Benitez (formerly of Liverpool) would obviously be reluctant to lose such an integral part of his newly-inherited squad, but Moratti has revealed that the Spaniard’s former Premier League rivals are hot on the heels of the 26-year-old playmaker – telling Sky Sport Italia;

“The interest from Manchester United in Sneijder is real, but I didn’t look into it in an attempt not to fall into temptation.

I’m following him at the World Cup and I think I’ll do the same also at Inter for the next years.”

Come on Wesley, do the decent thing and come and light up the Prem next season.
