Man Utd 3-3 FC Basel: Ashley Young Saves Face As United Almost ‘Frei-ed’ At Old Trafford (Photos & Highlights)
By Chris Wright
Frei-ed/Fried!? Geddit?!? Yeesh, that was a stinker.
Anyway, the crux of the matter is that Manchester United were almost turned over at home by FC Basel in the Champions League last night – with Ashley Young heading home a last-minute equaliser to save face after the Swiss side cancelled out Danny Welbeck’s quickfire double with three second-half goals from Alexander and Fabian Frei (no relation).
In fact, United came within seconds of falling to their first defeat at Old Trafford in 17 long months before Young nodded Nani’s cross in at the far post with the clock showing ’90′ to register his first ever Champions League goal and pull his side out of the proverbial.
