Yep, this again.

After arriving back home in Spain on international duty with the U21s, David de Gea has been ceasly quizzed over the incident that saw him being caught half-inching a Krispy Kreme from the Tescos in Altrincham – an incident which, as tedious as it is now becoming, is also keeping him in free donuts…

Elsewhere, highstreet pastry purveyors Greggs have spotted a publicity opportunity, milking a tenous link to within an inch of it’s life by formally inviting De Gea to come and sample their new line of ‘Superstar Donuts’.

Seems like the boy’s made for life…in donut terms.

    Anyone speak Spanish?

    • Chris says:

@Ed: He says something along the lines of:

“I’ve noticed that the English tabloid press place importance on irrelevant things, but after what happened I even apologised. I’ve closed this matter and I’ve taken it with humor, because if you spend all day worrying about what is said in the press you’ll have no time to live.”

The only sane response, i think.

I dont speak spanish but the tone of the whole thing seems like they are taking the piss out of our tabloids, who are beyond satire anyway.

    • Chris says:

@Fredmeister: I think they are taking the piss, and rightly so – let’s not forget that The Sun ran the De Dea/donut story on their FRONT PAGE.

  6. U says:

He didnt say “i even apoligized”. As the whole affair was a misunderstanding about having left the wallet on the car and have no money to pay, what he said is: “they even apoligized to me”

  7. Montesquieu says:

De Gea isn’t the only one who likes donuts, I dare remind you all of the ‘donut car parties’ that Cesc Fabregas said he used to have with his Arsenal team mates. In the car park I think…what a sodding bunch of losers. The worst part is, these guys all make more in a week than most of us make in a month.

  8. Tom Jones says:

@Ed: He says something along the lines of:

“I come from Spain the land of the wankers si senor.”

  9. Lorenzo says:

At the end the interviewer says: “David, sigue robando…” (“keep on robbing”)
