A group of disgruntled Sheffield United fans have clubbed together and hit Sky Sports with a bill of over £7,000 as they seek reimbursement for their fixture being rescheduled at the behest of the TV goliaths.

The Blades were originally supposed to be playing Southend at 3:00pm on Easter Monday, that was until Sky stuck their corporate oar in and had the game shunted to 19:45pm the following Wednesday night to suit their live broadcast schedule.

What with the original fixture being on a bank holiday, many Sheffield fans had planned to make a weekend of it, staying by the seaside for a couple of days and then taking in the game on the Monday.

However, with Sky subsequently rearranging the game on an altogether less convenient date, many fans fear being left completely out of pocket after booking hotels and trains, etc.

Not that they’re accepting the change meekly, oh no. In fact, a supporter’s group led by the United View fansite have launched a social media campaign to get their money back from Sky using the #TheBladesBigSkyBill hashtag.

After totting up the cost, the group have slapped Sky with an invoice for £7,271.50, itemised as such…

You tell ’em, chaps! Don’t let the bastards grind you down!

Not that they’ve got a cat in hell’s chance of getting shilling number one out of Sky, but best of luck to them anyway.
