Sam Clucas has apologised for his rather odd goal celebrations during Swansea’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal in midweek.

The midfielder netted a brace in the Swans’ win against the Gunners, and after each goal, made a hand gesture which referenced the logo of the ‘Simply LoveLeh Brotherhood’ website which apparently shows hardcore porn videos narrated by Yorkshire accents (yes, really!).

Must be a Babestation-meets-Emmerdale sort of thing?

A spokesperson for Swansea said:

As a club we were unaware of any links to the Internet group in question and disappointed to learn of the association as it does not reflect the values of Swansea City nor our strong commitment to equality.

We wholeheartedly condemn the degradation of women and believe everyone’s rights, dignity and individual worth is to be respected.

Having spoken to Sam, he was not fully aware of the pornographic sections of this Internet group and at no time intended to cause offence which he apologises for.

The club will speak to Sam again internally to establish the full facts, while also taking the opportunity to remind everyone of their responsibilities.

Both the FA and the Premier League are reported to be looking into the matter also.

So there you have it.

What ever happened to a good old-fashioned arm in the air after scoring a goal, eh?

Odds on another statement after sex workers and porn actresses complain about the implications of this part of the statement?
