Ecuador’s Barcelona and Liga Deportiva Universitaria teach Lehmann and Drogba how to brawl
Players from Ecuadorian sides Barcelona and Liga Deportiva Universitaria have been warned they face one-year bans and possible jail sentences after a brawl followed their match on Sunday. Former Southampton and Ecuador striker Agustin Delgado was at the centre of the controversy, claiming he reacted to being kicked throughout the game.
Barcelona’s Leondardo Soledispa suffered a broken nose and three other players were injured in the fight. LDU’s Paraguyan defender Carlos Espinola has been named as the chief culprit. He reportedly left Ecuador to return to his homeland immediately after the match. The brawl is captured on the video below.
