This eye-watering video shows Oldham Athletic chairman Simon Blitz having his chest waxed to convince Latics fans to buy more Coca Cola. It is all in the name of the fizzy drink manufactuer’s grassroots-supporting / die-hard-fan-exploiting Buy A Player competition. Several chairmen have provided video appeals for the Buy A Player website encouraging supporters to shell out.

Oldham chairman waxes his chest for Coca Cola Buy A Player competition continued
Coca Cola-fuelled transfers so far:
Colin Kazim-Richards – Bury to Brighton and Hove Albion
VERDICT: Coca Cola Zero
Scored just a handful of goals while used mainly as a substitute in his one season at Brighton. Now at Sheffield United, who paid less than his Buy A Player fee to secure his services.
Bradley Wright-Phillips – Manchester City to Southampton
VERDICT:
Plenty of fizz left
Ian’s lad has not set the world alight in his first season at the Saints but has shown enough to suggest that there is more to come.
Phil Gilchrist – Rotherham to Oxford United
VERDICT: Top of the Pops
Gilchrist joined Oxford for a second spell and is now club captain. The veteran centre-back is now in the running to be the club’s player of the year.
Chris Moore – Dagenham & Redbridge to Brentford
VERDICT: Flat
Moore failed to establish himself at Brentford. His contract was terminated after six months at the club and he is now back at Daggers.

Sorry to be picky but did you mean Latics, not Addicks? I just thought as this is a football website we should be correct about these things ;-)
Please shoot me down if I’m wrong though.

Not at all, Dan. Nit-picking welcome and you are, of course, correct. Knew something was amiss. Now corrected.
    Thanks.

So; how much for Kazim-Richards now?
Seeing as he’s a Premiership regular, has a U21 Turkey & been picked for their full squad?
    Not zero I think.

  4. Rob P says:

Probably about £750,000 now, SubtleBlade, but you can hardly argue he was money well spent for Brighton…
