Without Rangers to give them a run for their money, Celtic’s dominance of the Scottish top-flight makes for a rather uninteresting spectacle. However, on Tuesday night, the Bhoys gave their fans something to cheer about with an eight-goal thrashing of Hamilton Academical at Celtic Park.

Goals from Mikael Lustig, Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic put the hosts 3-0 up within the first 10 minutes, before a brace from Leigh Griffiths, on 22 and 34 minutes, gave the Hoops a 5-0 halftime lead.

A goal from James Forrest followed by a hat-trick completing effort from Griffiths made it 7-0 before Eamonn Brophy bagged a (small) consolation goal for the Accies. But there was still time for Callum McGregor to finish off the rout. Here’s the highlights (with dodgy quality!)…

The win sees the Glasgow giants go six points clear of Aberdeen at the top of the table while Hamilton stay third from bottom. However, following yet another disappointing European campaign, the rewards of being a big fish in a very small pond are are unlikely to satisfy a club with such a fantastic history on the big stage.

It’s like playing FIFA on amateur level, you win every game 5-0 and that gets boring very soon.
