You know what, f**k Serbia. Yep, f**k ’em and their racist fans and hotheaded players – it’s called karma. Good on you Matt Derbyshire for playing to the whistle and scoring the goal that ensured England’s Under-21 team progressed to the semis of the Euro Championship. That’s what we think anyway. Now let’s beat Holland in the last four and f**k Serbia again in the final.

He should be thankful Vidic wasn’t there…

  2. Anonymous says:

yep f*ck serbia, couldn’t wish it on a nicer team!

  3. Billyo says:

Erm, is it just me or is the guy standing up actually playing him onside? What was the fuss about? Karma indeed.
One drunk danish fan hates the ref = 4 games away from national stadium
Thousands of Rascist Fans (and one spanish manager) all over europe = please don’t do that again.
William Gaillard’s statement that “We have a policy of zero tolerance for racism” is a joke.

just for the record, I am an England fan. That being said, I think Derbyshire was right in continuing play (maybe), but I don’t think he was right in pointing at his name like a the glory seeking prat he will become. I love watching the u21s because of the way they play with passion and generally they put the team before themselves. I expected as much from Serbia but not from England. They are a well established team and have nothing to gain from something of the sort.
As for the goal, while the rules say to play until the whistle the defender was down for a good bit before the ball was played in so I don’t know what should have been done. I don’t blame him for shooting and scoring but I also don’t blame the Serbians for being a little upset about it. There have been plenty of similar situations with varying outcomes. The one I think of first is the di canio instance. He isn’t the most wholesome of players and generally is seen as a bit of a jerk but he held up and submitted to fair play. I don’t know what to think but I am hoping for an England-serbia final I can tell you that!

Wow Pies, never thought I’d be offended by your great site, but F**K Serbia? As a Serbian I take great offence to this comment and it is completely out of line. I am sorry but you are way out of line.
I hope the re-match in the final does occur and Serbia whips them just to hear you go off again.

  6. Jorge says:

I am neither English nor Serbian and although I also think the comment was out off line, I think that the Serbian U-21 soccer team and its racist fans (I am excluding the non-racist fans not stating that all serbian fans are racist) deserve very little respect.

  7. Ollie, Pies Ed. says:

Sorry if you feel offended Nick – the comment was tongue in cheek and not meant to be taken seriously. I think some of your nation’s fans did Serbia’s reputation no good though.

“You know what, f**k Serbia. Yep, f**k ’em and their racist fans and hotheaded players – it’s called karma”
I fail to see how that’s tongue & cheek, but there are certain things I need to stand up for and this is one of them. Seems like Serbia is being painted with one brush here. While I do admit (I’d be ignorant not too) there are problems with “some” of their fans, what federation/country doesnt have trouble with their fans?? In most cases I reckon, its a small percentage of fans!
I appreciate your apology and will continue to enjoy your website!

  9. Matthew Burke says:

Matt was all right to kick this ball into the net.
What was he supposed to do ? Look behind to ensure nobidy is injured ?
    it doesn’t make sense
PS: please don’t put all the serbian supporters in the same bag, you would be as racist as them

  10. Goran Markovic says:

Oh come on! There are several names for the thing you did and it all would be censored on an honest website. I really dont understand SOME of our fans, but you must understand tha they are mostly living abroad and have little touch with our culture today. I for one, have never meet a Serb who hates another race, nor have I heard for someone like that. It just dont exist here. Dont judge somebody by a couple of moron fans. I mean, Liverpool’s fans killed 19 fans of Juventus in the C. League 20 years ago. And? I should be afraid to go to Anfield? I dont think so…

  11. Ivan Ivanovic says:

The entire world knows what english are – Arrogant disgusting Idiots. So, please disgusting english Idiots do us all a little favour – stay on your fucking island or go and kill some innocent Irakis !!!

Howcome the other european teams (the French, the Dutch…) that also have players of african origin in their teams dont suffer the same “uh, uh” and racist insults in Serbia? Every time an english team plays here, they report racist attacks. This reminds me of an episode of “the Dream team” where Don Barker is trying to fake racist attack against his team by Lazio fans (“we all know what they’re like” sounds familiar?) And so the 30 sec “uh,uh” by a couple of retards (most of the probably citizens of EU btw) turns into 26mins of racist chanting (by Dutch media) and the rascist attack on Onouha & Hoyte was seen by everyone but themselves. I think this is clearly the case of switching the subject- lets not talk about criminal refereeing, about the two clear penalties that weren’t called, about the 3 yellow cards that Reo Cocker shoul have got… lets talk about Serbian racism. Yeah right. You’re pitifull & I’m sorry we wont meet in the finals, because the Dutch are gonna kick your sorry “non-rascist” asses back to the fuckin’ island. Pitifull

I think you should all read this article: http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2007/06/25/prejudice_is_a_twoway_street.html
Prejudice is a two-way street. As for your comment “f**k Serbia. Yep, f**k ’em”, you’re only making it clear to the world how stupid you really are.
