Veteran attacker Goran Pandev has always been a superbly gifted player, and on Monday night, the 34-year-old Macedonian scored an absolute peach of a lob for Genoa against Verona.

Genoa were already 2-1 up at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris when, in added time, substitute Pandev approached the Verona box before unleashing the most exquisite of chipped lobs, which sailed over goalkeeper Nícolas and dropped neatly under the crossbar…

Quite a magnificent piece of skill from the former Lazio and Inter Milan man.

It’s rather reminiscent of this iconic effort from Newcastle’s Philippe Albert in the Magpies’ 5-0 drubbing of Man Utd in 1996…

Courtesy of their 3-1 victory, Genoa go 11th, while Verona stay 19th, six points from safety with just four games left to play.
