The Steven Gerrard backlash begins with this video compilation of his ‘man of the match’ performance against Estonia

Put together by an Everton fan perhaps? I have to agree with his assessment though. The headless chicken description is apt.

Clearly done by someone with too much time…
However that said if a player is playing badly then that player has to expect things like this to happen. When the media snowballs comments against you it can finish you off or make you stronger, look at what happened to Beckham after he was sent off against Argentina. He came back better than ever and hopefully Stevie G can do the same. He just has not settled this season and I wonder if it is Rafa paying him too much respect and that having a knock on effect for England?

  2. nicko says:

    probably a little harsh….
we did win that game 3-0 afterall…
I am sure if this chap is an everton fan he could pick out a variety of inept errors by lescott or Neville over the last 2 games.

  3. Clayton says:

Nicko is correct, Lescott was more of a liability and was/is even more inept.

I would love to see one of these showing Lampard’s play over the last couple of years, problem is it’d be about 34hrs long and i wanna watch the rugby world cup final tomorrow.
At least Gerrard was trying to pass the ball forward.

  5. Peter says:

Brilliant movie! Shows the utter bollocks what stevie G gives to us. I’d rather have lampard.

  6. nick says:

so true. lol at the “told you” bit.

  7. Fanatico says:

Interesting, but even the great Zinedine Zidane in his prime had his off days and you could make him look equally inept if you applied the same visual breakdown to one of those.

  8. MARINA GABRIEL says:

Here we go again! You idolise them, worship them and then you bring them down with a deafening bang. It’s the only thing England fans are consistent to. Makes the little guys feel big, doesn’t it?

  9. BluNWhiteShite says:

Everyone has off days. But I do think that a lot of these guys care way more about club and country. Guess theres not enough incentive. Fuck Everton.
