CU68601large.gifI’ve always imagined Steve McClaren as a National Express coach driver. Don’t ask me why… he just looks like one, doesn’t he? Not the miserable sort who won’t let you put your mixtape on the coach stereo, though. He’d always have a smile for pensioners and wouldn’t break the speed limit.
Steve will be out of work soon, so he should brush up on his Highway Code.

I think National Express are already trying to lure him. They are sponsors of the england team!

Y’know, I’ve been very, very harsh on McClaren during this car crash of a qualifying campaign, but actually he isn’t a bad guy (damn ugly, though). Even though he spent the first year of his year-and-a-half England career being terrified of making ANY decision that could maybe cause controversy (except for the 3-5-2 at Croatia, which on was the footballing equivalent of General Custer’s last charge), as if ANYONE would be bothered if Fat Frank would be dropped except for the Tank himself and his personal sponsors, Doritos, McDonalds and Cadbury.
I’d like to see Macca revert to assistant manager next to the Special One, but if that’s out of the question, there’s probably a nice, big National Expresser waiting for him in Middlesbrough.
