Well, they don’t come much more washed up, big-name or lost than Denilson. The Brazilian World Cup winner has been without a club since leaving Bordeaux in the summer. The 29-year-old became the most expensive player in the world when he moved from Sao Paulo to Real Betis in 1998 for £22 million. He was rumoured to be heading for Saudi Arabia before Pompey expressed an interest and will now have a trial at Fratton Park. Here is the man at his best.
