It almost escaped my notice that Landon Donovan – team-mate of David Beckham, husband to a hot wife, hero to millions of not-quite-so-hot soccer moms – just overtook Eric Wynalda to become the USA’s top goal scorer… ever.
Landon notched a penalty in the 48th minute during the US’s 2-0 victory over Sweden (a ‘B’ Sweden, it should be said) this weekend, his 35th goal in 97 international appearances. in doing so, he surpassed Eric Wynalda, who will forever be stuck on 34 goals.
