The Daily Vote – can Celtic really shock Barcelona?

Thierry: ‘Ronnie, brilliant news!’
Ronaldinho: ‘What is it Thierry?’
Thierry: ‘We drew Celtic in the Champions League!’
Ronaldinho: ‘Sweet!’
Is it that clear-cut though? Barca are obvious favourites to go through, but Celtic are in the last 16 of the CL on merit. Samuel Eto’o, Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho and Thierry Henry are in Barca’s squad for tonight’s game, and the prospect of that quartet being on the pitch at the same time would scare/excite any Celtic fan.

The bookies are very confident of the outcome. They make Barcelona 7-1 favourites to knock out Celtic; the Spaniards are also odds-on to win in Scotland tonight. Celtic are a huge 4-1 to eliminate Barca, and a tempting 10-3 to win the home leg of the tie.
As much as I’d like to see an upset, I have to agree with the bookmakers. The only thing Barca have to fear is complacency – even if Celtic could manage a draw tonight, I can’t see them stopping Barca’s firepower in the San Siro (although if Lionel Messi picks up a yellow card tonight, he would miss the return leg, so no doubt Gordon Strachan will instruct his players to wind up the little Argentine).
Pies says Barca to win 2-1 at Parkhead, and then finish off the job with a comfortable victory in Spain. Do you agree? Vote below…
