La Liga Lunes – Barcelona move to within two points of Real Madrid

A few weeks back Barcelona’s title challenge seemed dead in the water, but after this weekend’s La Liga action the Catalan giants are just two points behind league leader Real Madrid. Barcelona thrashed table-propping Levante 5-1 to but Real’s hope of winning back-to-back titles in doubt.
Xavi opened the scoring for Barca before Riga levelled the scores for Levante. Samuel Eto’o then fired Barcelona into the lead again, and Lionel Messi added their third goal. Eto’o then bagged two more goals to complete his hat-trick. Real Madrid suffered an embarrassing 0-1 defeat at home to Getafe in one of their less high profile derby matches. Real’s players were still celebrating a disallowed goal when Ikechukwu Uche scored the only goal of the game.
